Hello Foodies!
I have a delicious stroganoff recipe to share with you! I hope you find it as scrumptious as I do!
Ingredients:
- thinly sliced stroganoff meat
- butter
- Worcestershire sauce
- diced onions
- thinly sliced mushrooms
- sour cream
- *egg noodles
- *peas
*Optional
Here is how to make it:
Put butter in a pan. Once it begins to sizzle, place your thinly sliced stroganoff meat into the buttered pan. NOTE: Gelson’s sells wonderful meat for stroganoff. It is thinly sliced and says “cut for stroganoff” in the corner. Add Worcestershire sauce as the meat cooks. Sear until meat is lightly browned, then flip. (about 30 seconds to 1 minute per side). Remove meat from heat and set out in room temperature to rest.
Put butter in a pan (we like to use the same pan that we cooked the meat in so the sauce can be flavored by the juices). Caramelize diced onions and then remove from pan. Add thinly sliced mushrooms to the pan (you’ll need A LOT of them, as mushrooms cook down), and add Worcestershire sauce as they cook. After the moisture has been released from the mushrooms, (this takes a while–about 20 minutes) add more Worcestershire sauce and sour cream. Put the caramelized onions into the mixture. Stir until onions and mushrooms are thoroughly coated with the sauce. Remove pan from heat and then add meat. Stir well.
Serve hot over egg noodles and then top with peas if desired. Enjoy!
