The Perfect Picnic Sandwich

Happy Fourth of July, foodies!
Now, for those of you who are going on a picnic (or are in need of a scrumptious sandwich), I have just the recipe for you! Tuna salad sandwiches are easy to make and, although simple, can be the perfect picnic sandwich. As you all know, mayo cannot be in the sun for too long, so make sure you enjoy this sandwich quickly if you have a picnic. I like to chill my tuna in a pyrex before putting it on my bread.

Here’s how I make it:
First, mix a spoonful or two of mayo with white albacore tuna. One small can of tuna makes about one big sandwich. Then, add finely-chopped onions, a squirt of mustard, some dill relish, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, shredded cheddar cheese, and a dash or two of —don’t laugh now– taco seasoning. This last one is the secret ingredient, as it really makes it taste perfect. I prefer to use a fork to mix this all up because it makes breaking up the tuna easier.  Put on bread of your choice, and then take a bite! Mmmmmm! It  is cool, crunchy, and savory.
This tuna salad is tasty, but if you want knock-your-socks-off tasty, you have to get a tuna salad sandwich at Great Harvest Bakery in Clackamas, Oregon.
