September Tip

Hello, Foodies!
Fall is in the air!
And when you think of fall, what is one of the first things that come to mind?
APPLES!

Here are some helpful things to know about apples:

1. To prevent apples slices from turning brown, dunk them in lemon juice diluted with a bit of water.

2. I recommend using Granny Smith apples for baking, as they don’t get mushy like some other varieties.

3. The link below is about an efficient way to peel an apple:

4. Keep apples AWAY from other fruits and vegetables, as they give off a gas called “ethylene.” This can cause the rest of your produce to spoil before it needs to.
5.  If you press your finger into an apple and it leaves an indentation, DO NOT purchase it! A good apple should be nice and firm.
