Happy Summer, fellow foodies!
I just returned from a much-anticipated family reunion in Utah.
While we were there, we stopped at a hidden gem of a place called “Hi-Mountain.”
Located in Kamas, Utah, “Hi Mountain” Drugstore is known for their old-fashioned (that means homemade and mouth-watering to us millennials) shakes and burgers.
Tiny but mighty, this little drugstore has it all!
Yes, there IS a candy counter.
It was a tough choice, as the turtle, raspberry cheesecake, and chocolate oreo shakes were all calling my name, but Mom and I finally decided to split the “Better Than Anything” shake, and let me just put it this way: IT WAS BETTER THAN ANYTHING! Heath bars, brownies, and caramel sauce were scrumptiously blended into vanilla ice cream…Oh My! It was simply delightful, if you ask me. The shakes do take a while to make, but if you have the time to spare, they are very well worth it!
“Pure Bliss” would have been my name for it, but “Better Than Anything” works too.
In addition to summer bucket list-worthy shakes, we ordered Iron Port, which is an old fashioned and hard-to-find soda. It tastes like a root beer with a hint of cherry. It was very refreshing and I highly recommend it. I think we all need to bring it back from the past, people! Why did it go away in the first place?
